  • Hello WordPress Forums!

    I’m working with a client who is using StoreFront Themes (which I am totally having no fun with! Ha!) I’m trying to do the simplest stuff with this theme, but I keep getting overwritten by it at every turn. Anyway…

    My current frustration is that I want to add a background color to my footer area. I can’t seem to find a way to make this happen. Perhaps I’ll need to create a new footer.php document so I can add a div or something that will allow me to add this without getting all my styling overwritten by *stupid* storefront themes. If anyone has advice, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much! Here’s the link:

    I’m using firebug already, but can’t seem to force this thing to give me a background color for my footer section. And I’m not seeing an option within my theme dashboard of adding color to it, other than to headers and text.

  • for problems with your commercial theme, please approach the theme’s seller for support.

    for formatting problems, if you can’t solve them with the help of Firebug, try to use the web developer add-on for Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-developer/ which points me to the background colors of #meta and .card-icons in the /* 5. FOOTER */ section of custom.css –

    which gets called twice in the theme:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://designinreallifecom.netfirms.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/storefront-edge-1.0.5/custom.css" media="screen" >

    <link href="http://designinreallifecom.netfirms.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/storefront-edge-1.0.5/custom.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
