Store Locator V1.9.5

    Hi there

    I have installed STore Locator V 1.9.5 and I have added locations with postcodes before and all have been fine.

    I went to add another location and it will now not accept the postcode and I know 100% it is a valid postcode – it just says cannot geocode and will not provide the longititudes and latitudes

    Any ideas of what could be wrong?

    I am nervous of updating these plugsins as they seem quote sensitive and may affect the rest of the site

    If so, update it to its latest version and see if it works/

    BTW, why do you run a very old version of WordPress that can create compatibility and other problems (similar to the current one) and also exposing your site to security issues?

    Thanks for your quick reply. I am told by my web guy that if I update to the latest version of WordPress, it may cause all sorts of problems with my plug ins and the running of the site.

    How do I update the whole site to the latest version and will it cause problems?

    Also will it help to speed up the site as the site is very slow?

    Not possibly. However, you may backup your site first and then update WordPress so that you can always restore to what you have now in your site.

    I am sorry to say that he is misguiding you. You can have all kinds of problems including getting hacked, infected by malware, etc. if you do not update WordPress, your plugins, themes, etc.
