    Hello,
I use another plugin for membership, im thinking about using this plugin as a compliment to that plugin. that plugin cannot cap the number of people who can belong to a certain membership level. Im hoping this plugin can cap the number of people who can belong to a certain group. is my hope or belief correct? can this plugin cap and stop people from joining the “group” after a certain number? say 50 people, and then stop people from being able to join, and people can obviously joing groups in this plugin right??

    Thanks,
    -Mike

    Hi Mike,

To allow users to join a group, you can simply place this shortcode on a page: [groups_join group=”Privileged”] – see http://docs.itthinx.com/document/groups/shortcodes/groups_join/ for details on the shortcode … “Privileged” is an arbitrary group name serving as an example here.

But to cap the number of users who are allowed to join the group, you would have to build something extra, like a shortcode that renders the above conditionally.

I can envision something like this:

    [count_group_members group="Privileged" max="50"]
    [groups_join group="Privileged"/]
    [/count_group_members]

… where you would have to take care of implementing the [count_group_members] shortcode obviously 🙂

I hope this helps a bit!
