Support » Plugin: Backup and Restore WordPress - Backup Plugin » Stopped working when my hosting plan changed

  • I’ve been using WpBackitUp Premium for 2 years and have had only a few issues, until recently. A few months back we modified our hosting plan with GoDaddy.com. The new plan is a shared hosting plan with enforced limits on RAM and I/O. Generally speaking, I noticed no impact in performance on our site. However, WPBackitUP premium started failing.
I logged a ticket and the support team advised me to modify my batch size under advanced options. I did as advised, but the issue continued…even after multiple attempts at different configs. The time it took to perform a backup went from 5-10 minutes on my old hosting plan to over an hour just to error out to due overloaded resources.
I realize this is due to the newly enforced limitations on my econ hosting plan, but WPBackitUp specifically advertises that their solution works in resource constrained, shared hosting instances.
To add insult to injury, I had just paid the annual fee for premium in Dec, and haven’t been able to take scheduled backups since. I’ve asked for a credit/refund…but no word from WPBackitup yet.

@clarner66 Sorry to hear you are having issues. WPBackItUp does work well for most hosts, even the ones that severely limit resources but unfortunately, sometimes we do run into challenges that we can’t resolve. It sounds like this is the case with your site. I see that you submitted a support ticket and will follow up about your refund.

Thanks for being a loyal customer for so many years!
