    Hello,

the plugin was working perfectly when the menus were in the structure:

Main menu item – sub menu – sub menu – category post list

But because I have now so many main menu items, the structure is now:

Main menu item – sub menu – sub menu – sub menu – category post list

And the lists stopped showing up in the menu?

    Thank you,

    Manu

The menu in question is “Kohteet” in the Finnish language version of the site.

    Hi Manu,

thank you for your message. I’ve just double checked and as far as I can tell the plugin works fine at any nested menu level depth. Here’s how I verified it:

    • Disabled all WordPress plugins except CPCM
    • Installed and activated the Twenty Twenty-One theme
    • Created a new Category “Category A”
    • Created a new Post “Post 1” in “Category A”
    • Created a new Post “Post 2″ in “Category A”
    • Via Appearance > Menus, added Sample page six times, each one below the other. Also, added “Category A” below each occurrence of “Sample page” in the menu
    • I’ve checked the checkbox to show the posts in all occurrences of the category
    • On all levels the posts are shown.

Could you disable all other plugins and revert to a standard WordPress theme? If the issue persists, I need your help to rebuild your exact case in my test environment.

    Kind regards,
    Diana

Apologies for not answering sooner, I didn’t get notified about the reply for some reason. I’ll do some more digging in my end, thanks for the reply. Just as a screenshot, this is what happens:

If I have “Pirkanmaa” as it separate item in the main menu, everything works fine and it lists the category items under for example under Pirkanmaan adoptoidut – Mänttä Vilppula Adoptoidut.

But if I move “Pirkanmaa” under “Kohteet”, then it doesn’t work anymore, even though it still has the (+) sign….

But thanks, I’ll let you know if I can test this (it’s a huge website with no option for mirroring).

At first glance this looks like a theme issue. Could it be that it has a maximum menu depth that it renders/supports? You can test this by manually adding menu items several layers deep and seeing what happens then..

    Kind regards,
    Diana

    Hi Manu,

did you figure out what caused your theme to limit the nesting depth?

(If no reply is forthcoming from your end, I’ll mark this as resolved.)

    Kind regards,
    Diana
