Stopped working since version WP 5

    Somehow the lightbox stopped working for me after upgrading to wordpress version 5 >.

    Getting 500 error pages without really understanding what the issue is.

    Without checking the server logs it is impossible to analyze anything. A “500 error page” can be caused by anything and it is crucial to check the logs what happened. But it is very likely your specific setup which has a problem since the plugin is being used in many WordPress 5 websites without any issue.

    On my local it is indeed working! No clue what is causing this.

    This error really looks strange and sound like there is some serious problem with the PHP setup on the server. I’d ask the hosting provider, if there is anything special in the configuration.

    And just to be sure, also check for any security breach on your website.

    Just as a demonstration: this is a quite vanilla WordPress 5.0.3 with the Twenty Seventeen theme and Lightbox with Photoswipe 1.91 in action:

    So I’ll close this now as the reason for the issue is not the plugin.
