Support » Plugin: Responsive Menu - Create Mobile-Friendly Menu » Stopped working on iPad mini

The menu stopped working on iPad Mini Chrome and Safari (older Mini). The hamburger is there but nothing happens when clicked.
    Works on laptop and iPhone.

I noticed there was an update a couple of weeks ago and that is about the time it stopped working BUT, if I deactivate the plugin and try the theme’s hamburger menu it does not work either.

    Thanks.

    Hi Akmiecik,

Can you please tell me on which version this was working properly? Also as a test, switch to a default theme such as twenty-twenty, and see if this fixes it or not, because sometimes themes and RM conflict with each other.

I switch to multiple themes and it still did not work.

I noticed in settings it shows that it was modified on March 9, 2022 2:47 am by UNKNOWN. That ‘unknown’ seems odd.

Also, under Shortcode it reads ‘Shortcode deactivated’.

Seems like if I deactivate the Responsive Menu plugin, the theme’s native hamburger does not work either.

Created a new instance of the site. Responsive Menu does not work on the iPad Mini nor does Astra theme native burger menu.

Wonder if WordPress 5.9.2 is the culprit.

I’m going to chalk it up to being an old (32bit) iPad and move on.

    Hi Akmiecik,

It is a bit hard to answer why you are experiencing this issue
The best advice I can give is the standard fault finding and fixes.
I first advise you to clear the cache and cookies.
The issue could also be due to a theme or plugin conflict

    Themes:
As a test, switch to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty and see if this fixes it.

    Plugins:
If that doesn’t work, also deactivate all plugins apart from RM and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.
If you cannot do this to your site (say, because it is live) then use the ‘troubleshooting’ features of this plugin to let you test without affecting other users.

I did all that, and then…

After I gave up, I went back to the Astra Theme native menu, which was not working either, but I forgot that. I needed the hamburger to show up on the desktop due to the large menu but, Astra does not allow that (seriously, how can you update a theme as popular as Astra and not allow that) but I did find a little piece of code that I could put in functions.php to go enable the hamburger on the desktop. And when I did that the hamburger started working on the desktop but, not the Responsive Menu plugin.

No doubt there is something “new” being used in the code of Astra or Responsive Menu that is not back-level compatible with the old iPad (Chrome or Safari).

So, thanks for your time, thanks for the plugin, love it.
