    Hi,

I have been using the WORDPRESS APP on my Iphone to upload images directly to my site with no issues along with the STOPBADBOTS-plugin (SBBP) for some time. Since a couple of weeks, however, (don’t know exactly how long, could be longer as I dindn’t use the App for months), the app throws an error: “Unable to sync” plus “WordPressKit.WordpressOrgXMLRPCApiError 0”.

After some deactivate-activate switching I found that the SBBP is the culprit: The APP works when I disable the STOPADBOTS-plugin. I can deterministically reproduce the error.

This post might be helpful as there appears to be some folks out there running into the same error and looking for a solution.

    Andreas

P.S: Thx 4 the plugin anyway.

    Hi Andreas,

Probably your app use a bot. You need whitelist their IP.
You can enable email notifications and run the APP. Then, look your inbox for the email with details and their IP number.

After that, whitelist the IP, disable the bot and the IP on IP table.

I got this info from our FAQ page:

Open the page Bad Bots Table (under Stop Bad Bots Menu) and take a look at Default Bad Bots List. (Dashboard => Stop Bad Bots => Bad Bots Table)
You can see how many times each bot was blocked at the column Num Blocked. Click the title (Num Blocked) to order by.

You can also receive emails to help you. Just go to the Notifications Tab and check yes. (Dashboard => Stop Bad Bots => Notification Settings). Then, check your email for the String Found: (or IP or referer)

Please, let me know if you are able to fix this.

    Cheers,
    Bill

    Hi Andreas,

The last version of the plugin (6.14) has a Blocked Visits log.

Call your app, then, quickly, go to blocked visits log and whitelist their IP.
    Just click Whitelist button.
Dashboard => Stop Bad Bots => Blocked Visits Log

    Cheers,
    Bill
