Stop video inline post on Facebook

    Hi – Hopefully I’m posting in the right section, apologies if not.

    I’m trying to post a url of my WP post into my Facebook fan page. The WP post contains an embedded youtube video as part of the content (also text).

    I’ve set a featured image for the post, but the problem is that when I post in my URL, the featured image is ignored and I just get the video posted inline in Facebook. Clicking on any part of the post text showing in FB just results in the video being played and no link to my WP site.

    Any ideas on how to get FB to accept the featured image instead on putting in the video inline?

    Hi,

    You’ll want to look into getting an OpenGraph plugin installed for this, they usually add meta values so that facebook and other social media sites know what to be displaying.

    I do believe most (if not all) SEO plugins also add these meta tags to your site for you.
