 * How do I stop posts from showing on the index page of a wordpress blog. The posts
   are published, but I don’t want them to appear on the home page, but a different
   page instead?

 * Go to settings—> reading and set your front page displays to static rather than
   the latest post and you can choose the page you want to display in your main 
   page.
