Support » Theme: Stargazer » Stop auto-hyphen of text in Stargazer

  • I am having great difficulty with the text layout. Although posting looks normal, when you visit the site, words are cut and hyphens connecting words leading to the next sentence.
    I cannot find a solution.

  • same question, thanks

    That’s done using CSS. In the stylesheet (around line 1220), find the following code and comment it out:

    word-wrap:   break-word;
    	word-break:  normal;

    	-webkit-hyphens: auto;
    	   -moz-hyphens: auto;
    	    -ms-hyphens: auto;
    	       hyphens: auto;

    If you’re not using a Child Theme, and if the theme doesn’t have a designated section of the dashboard for CSS modifications then install this Custom CSS Manager plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-css-manager-plugin

    Then use its “CSS Code” section of the dashboard to hold your CSS modifications:

    Alternatively use your Child Theme style.css file to hold your CSS modifications:

    .main {
    	word-wrap: normal;
    	-webkit-hyphens: none;
    	   -moz-hyphens: none;
    	    -ms-hyphens: none;
    	       hyphens: none;
    }
