    I just tried v1.1.4 on WP4.5.3, and had just one problem getting it to work, but after that, it worked fine.

    One thing that I think he skips in the setup instructions (maybe I missed it) is that before you generate a Google API Key, you have to enable Google Fonts access under your developer account. After that, when you ask to generate a new API Key (and choose Server Key when you do), it will generate an API Key that includes rights to Google Fonts.
