  • i am able to create a gallery, upload the images, link the page, i see the thumbnail on my static page, but i get this error when i choose to view my pics “The page you requested could not be found” what is wrong, is there help

    I get the same problem.

Specifically the [Show as Slideshow] link changes when you go into a post category.

    From the home page:
    http://jimsrobot.com/usb-charge-station-5-ports/nggallery/slideshow/

    From the category list:
    http://jimsrobot.com/usb-charge-station-5-ports/category/other-projects/nggallery/slideshow/

So it’s added into the URL:
    “category/other-projects/”

    HELP!

So what i did, i uninstalled the new version and reinstalled an older one

Install a older version of nextgen i think 1.9

I am running into the same problem. I tried rolling back to 1.9.13 but then my albums didn’t display at all (they were created with 2.0.14 so that may have been the problem there). I am back at 2.0.14. Is there a way to disable the [Show as Slideshow] link for now?

I disabled the [Show as Slideshow] link through my stylesheet (.slideshowlink {display: none;}) but would like to have it working so we can have the option available.

OK … so I found the setting in Gallery Settings for showing the slideshow or not … sorry about the previous post. But would still like to use the slideshow if we can get it to stop the error 404’s.

@lisabeewd – We have a new beta version that is available now from this page: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-latest-beta/

… and if testing goes well it will be released the beginning of next week. Otherwise, please feel free to make a bug report on this page: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/

    Thanks!

Just updated NextGEN Gallery to version 2.0.17. Still same problem.

Is this the right address that one is redirected to when clicking on [Show as slideshow] : http://mywebsite.com/gallery/nggallery/slideshow/ ?

@spvemm: Yes that url is correct. Whatever page the gallery is on, when you click the slideshow link, it should add /nggallery/slideshow/ to the end of that URL. Sounds like that’s what it’s doing in your case.

Can you post a live link to the page in question? I’m wondering if there is something else displayed on that page that is interfering with the URL or rendering? Do you have multiple different galleries / albums / etc on the same page?

For everyone: I do want to confirm that you can turn off the “Show as Slideshow” link by going to Gallery > Gallery Settings > Thumbnail Galleries and deselecting the option to show that link. I recognize the main point is to ensure it’s working, but I also want to let you know you can turn it on/off.

Oh, you can also turn it off on a gallery by gallery basis via the page/post pop-up window for NextGEN.

@spvemm: that raises another question. Are you seeing the same effect on any thumbnail gallery where you display the show as slideshow link, or just that one? Also, if you display a slideshow with a show picture list link, is that one working?

    Yes, that’s what it’s doing.
This is where the gallery is: http://markbofficial.com/gallery
And this is the redirection url, after clicking on [Show as slideshow]: http://markbofficial.com/gallery/nggallery/slideshow/

The content area is displaying Error 404: Page not found. The widgets are displayed in the main widget area of the page.

I have only one gallery with one album on the page. Therefore I can’t tell, if the same effect is seen in other thumbnail galleries.

I think you meant “Show piclens link”. Yes, that works fine.
Both options are enabled in the gallery link I posted in this post.
