Still not working

    Over a year ago I said this was not working. It still is not.

    I’ve installed it. I’ve added the filters to use a token. Nothing.

    I paste the repo URL and WordPress says that it cannot embed this link. This issue is NOT resolved. It just does not work.

    Tested with two separate multi-site installs. Same negative result.

    It just does not work.

    Sorry to hear that you’re having problems, but I’m finding it difficult to reproduce any issues. In all of my tests, everything works as expected. I’ve just run a fresh install of WordPress, installed and activated this plugin from wordpress.org and pasting a GitHub URL into a page embeds it as expected:

    If you’re having problems, we’re happy to investigate, but we need to understand how to reproduce the issue.

    My guess is that something is preventing the site from connecting to itself, either a DNS issue, network issue or security plugin, but it’s difficult to say for sure.
