Still no way to convert a tag to custom taxonomy?

    I’ve been looking for awhile. Much have been said but couldn’t find a concrete way to convert standard tags: “blue”, “1999”, “big” to:

    custom taxonomies:
    “colors” -> “blue”
    “size” -> “big”
    “year” -> “1999”

    If you know how to do this please tell me.

    What you want is pretty much impossible to do.

    The issue is… looking at your example, knowing year isn’t to bad because it’s a 4-digit integer (unless someone adds it as a 2-digit integer…) but how would the system know what is meant to be a size and what’s meant to be a colour? They are both text strings and can both have values of varying lengths, so there’s no easy way for a computer to tell the difference.

    Isn’t there a plugin like the “convert categories to tags”
    Where you can select a tag and convert it to a custom taxonomy of choice?
    Is this impossible too?
