Damn, that sucks 🙁 Would you be able to post a link to your site so that I can take a look to confirm the plugin is definitely working? I’m worried it might be a problem with Thesis 2. I know that the original Thesis did some REALLY weird stuff under the hood and if Thesis 2 is doing similarly weird things with comments then that could cause the plugin not to work at all. I can’t tell without seeing though.
Thanks for any help you can provide 🙂
Impressive! A responsive developer, – and even a damn fast one of the specie! 😀
I really would like your plugin to work because of it’s simplicity.
I’ve tried SFW, also with negative results. I also see no reason to make it that complicated (as with SFW) for the user, if yours would do the job just as well.
I too suspect Thesis to be the problem. Wouldn’t it be great to find a way around?
I will provide you with anything needed, and of course also the links to the blogs…
Spam Destroyer installed on both – both still receiving comments marked as spam.
freealternativeenergy.info only got your plugin and WordPress SEO installed.
SD seems to work (almost) perfectly @ http://www.michaeljohansen.info/ which is not using a Thesis theme
P.S. You just earned your self an other star! 🙂
From what I can see, the plugin is at least live and pushing the necessary code to your pages. I’m about to submit a comment to http://www.buildinganonline.com/select-affiliate-program-675/. If you see it, then there is a definite problem with the plugin. If not, then it is at least partially working and I’ll try to figure out which part is failing.
EDIT: I think the comment was blocked.
This is a test to see if the Spam Destroyer plugin for WordPress is working. This comment should be rejected immediately. If you are seeing this, then this test did not work.
It is in my spam queue along with 3 other spam mails received from my last posting here.
Did you ever have any luck in fixing your spam problem? I’m kinda confused as to what was causing your issue as the plugin appeared to be doing it’s job just fine.
Nope, and since you didn’t returned to me (I know you are not getting paid for this work 😉 ), I gave up, and am now using a combination of “Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin” and “Simple Trackback Validation with Topsy Blocker”.
Never seen any spam ever since.
That’ll be the Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin which is blocking the rest of the spam. It has a huge advantage in that it forces the user to click on something. Blocking spam without the user noticing there is any anti-spam systems in place is much more difficult.
