Support » Plugin: WordPress Zero Spam » Still getting de-activated upon update

    Hi,

Just to report: I’ve updated several sites recently to your version 4.9.6 and get the message:

The plugin zero-spam/zero-spam.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

I am able to simply re-activate the plugin. Settings were saved.

Is this still the same problem as here? Is it just that I updated from an older version that caused the problem?

(I don’t use or enable Gravity Forms. CF7 enabled remained ticked.)

Now that it has updated to version 4.9.6, should I expect that this won’t happen again?

    Thanks!

Sounds like you upgraded from v3. That’s expected as v4 is a complete rewrite and uses a different filename for the core plugin file. Unfortunately, there’s not a way around this, but you won’t encounter this again after updating to v4.

No problem. I haven’t given up on trying to find a solution though. I know it’s a pain, so hopefully, I can come up with something to make it a smoother upgrade from v3 to v4.
