Still I’m trying to upgrade the events after updating the plugin to 6.0, to no avail.

I’ve removed all past events, so the system wouldn’t ignore soo much events. But even down to 2 it just keeps ‘trying’ to assess the effect of the upgrade to those.
I’ve turned off cache plugins. I’ve removed and again installed the plugin (which retained all information, settings and events) and it has nog changed a thing.
It keeps being stuck in creating an example of the events upon upgrade. Sometimes some of the events are assessed, but never all. And I’ve never been past this ‘preparation.

    Hi @troela ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

Just to be clear, before starting the migration preview, you have ensured that only 2 events are published and that the drafts and trashed items are cleared, yes? Have you also switched to a WordPress default theme (preferably the twenty-twenty-one) and disabled all other plugins except The Events Calendar plugin before running the migration preview? If yes, have you tried the suggestions in the following, which skips the migration preview: Preview has been running for a long time, and the progress bar seems stuck.?

    Hi @troela

I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to touch base and check in with you. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from you. I was just curious if you had the chance to try out the recommendation provided above.

Let me know if there’s anything I can assist you with.

I’ve tried most of the suggestions.
I’ve turned off the plugins and changed theme. Didnt help.
I’ve checked the used memory. This was very high to my surprise and I upped it in the php.ini. Didnt help.
At some point I was just getting errors and problems with the website and that was just not worth it.
I’m planning to overhaul the website within the year and I’ll try again…

    Hi @troela

Thanks for your message. Could you try the following steps, and see if that resolves the issue?

    1. Update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro (if any).
    2. Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash.
    3. Activate only our plugins and use the 2020 theme.
    4. Make sure server-side caching is disabled temporarily while you’re migrating your events.
    5. Install and activate the Code Snippets plugin.
    6. Add this snippet and run it once (be sure it does not stay activated).
    7. Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.

Please re-do the migration on your staging site first before applying to your live site.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Darian,

    Thank you for your follow-up.
Like I said last time, I won’t look into it any futher at the moment.
I hope on the new to be build website the problem will have solved itself.
