Sticky posts not working

Our posts are sorted by date, but we’d like a post marked as “sticky” to appear at the top of the list. Unfortunately, the post is still ordered by post date. Can List Category Posts respect sticky status? If so, is there something special we need to do to enable it?

I found the answer to this question on the plugin’s Github page:
This is default WordPress behavior. In WordPress, sticky posts are not prepended on category archive pages, so the List Category Posts plugin doesn’t prepend them when you specify a category in your shortcode.
