Having just one Sticky Post is not a feature – it seems to be a fault.
(Im using Magazine Basic 3.0.6 with WP 4.4.3)
If you deploy more than one Sticky Post, the most recent one will show but the earlier ones DISSAPEAR from the front page

It’s designed as a featured posts for the home page. That’s why only the latest one appears.

That’s a pity. It used to be the case that you could deploy several sticky posts, newest first.
If they are to be limited to just 1, I’d suggest something be done to either –
a) ignore sticky status of earlier posts (to prevent their “disappearance” from front page)
b) control usage of sticky posts to prevent more than one post being marked as sticky.
But ideally, I’d love to see multiple Sticky Posts restored. 🙂
