 * A check box is included on the Administration > Posts > Add New Screen (In the
   Publish panel under Visibility. Click edit to see the checkbox). If checked,
   the post will be placed at the top of the front page of posts, keeping it there
   until new posts are published. Please notice that this feature is only available
   for the built-in post type post and not for custom post types.

 * Sites in wordpress.com have extras that are not available by default on self-
   hosted sites using the same theme. As you appear to be using a non-WPORG theme,
   perhaps you need to seek support from the theme’s developers – paid or otherwise?
   We only support themes downloaded from wordpress.org here.

 * where did you download/purchased your “sight” theme? It’s not to be found in
   th WP theme repo.
 * You may wan to contact the theme’s developers.

 * I found the theme on wordpress.com, before I moved to wordpress.org
    I wanted
   to keep the same theme so I downloaded it to my computor, and went to “install
   themes”—–“upload”(in zip format)

 * “… keeping it there until new posts are published.” (from [http://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts](http://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts))
 * Is this just poorly phrased, or genuinely how it works?
 * That’s just how posts work anyway. The most recent is at the top, if they are
   in date order (default) until you post something else, then they all get bumped
   down (they all roll over and one falls out, so to speak).
 * Sticky posts are supposed to stay up the top _even if_ new posts are published.
   That’s the whole point. That’s _what_ a sticky post is.
 * What gives?

 * Further down the rabbit hole…
 * It looks like sticky posts only apply to the home page (front page), not category
   pages:
    – “at the top of the front page of posts” (from [http://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts](http://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts))–
   here’s a thread from five years ago talking about it: [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/sticky-posts-not-working](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/sticky-posts-not-working)
 * Pretty strange.
 * I would have thought a sticky post would be sticky wherever it was displayed.
   What does it matter if you’re in a category archive of the main feed? Many blogs
   don’t even have a main feed – just categories.
 * Eg I have a website with events. Many events are in more than one category (live
   music, art exhibition, wine – many events involve all three, and should be displayed
   in each archive). If an event is sticky because it’s happening this week, it
   should be sticky on all three archive pages.
 * Anyway, I’ve found a plugin that might help this: [http://wordpress.org/plugins/category-sticky-post/](http://wordpress.org/plugins/category-sticky-post/)
 * [http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-sticky-posts-for-categories-in-wordpress/](http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-sticky-posts-for-categories-in-wordpress/)
 * However – it only works for one category per post, and one post per category;
   which doesn’t help the above example.
 * Why?!

 * Found this. Works. Beautiful!
