• Hi. I’m new to WordPress and I’ve dived straight in with a purchased theme. So I’m a little hazy as to what’s native to WP and what’s part of my theme, so please forgive any assumptions I make here. But…

I’m attempting to recreate the way my logo sits on my old website. (Currently live on the root of my site, please remove the ‘wp’ in the link provided. It’s sticky to the top left, and essentially overlaps the navigation.

I’m struggling to create this in WP as the logo is literally inside the navigation bar and resizing the logo to make it as large as I’d like makes my navigation huge. I’d like them to be separate.

I’m thinking I might need to avoid including my logo through the built in menus in Wp, and maybe use a plugin to add a new image/logo over the top of everything else? Is this plausible? Or the best approach?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply.

I did contact them initially, their response was that it is not possible to achieve what I want to do ‘by default’. Which is what lead me here, I fully understand that it’s not possible to simply switch it on as an option in my theme, but I assume that it’s not impossible to create a logo with the behaviour that I’m looking for in WordPress in general so I hoped it would still be possible.

As I feared this is complicated by my naivety regarding WP ‘out of the box’, VS themes. I’m reasonably confident with CSS and working my way through platforms such as this, so I guess I’m just wondering if it is even possible to just ‘bolt on’ a floating logo using a plugin or some custom html/css appropriately placed… I’ll keep fiddling.
