Currently STCR adds an inline script in the footer that depends on jQuery. Is it possible to use the plugin without requiring jQuery? Can the code snippet be converted to vanilla JavaScript? I’d like to remove jQuery from my blog but because this plugin requires it, I’m holding off. Thanks for any feedback.

    Hi @impressivewebs

You have the “STCR Position” option in WP admin > StCR > Options set to “Yes”, correct?

That should be the only jQuery in there, we replaced some of the jQuery code with vanilla JS a few months ago. We’ll switch that over to vanilla JS as well in the next update.

    Hi @wpkube,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have that option set to “Yes” and if I disable it, the checkbox disappears. Is there a way I can disable that option while still keeping the checkbox there so I can remove the jQuery?

    Hi @impressivewebs

We’ll switch over the jQuery related to that option to be vanilla JS in the next update (this month, probably next week).

@wpkube Ok thanks, that sounds good. I was actually thinking of rewriting it myself, but it seemed a little overly complex and would probaly take a while. Would be great to be able to remove that dependency, I think it will be much better off. Thanks for a useful Plugin.

Hi @wpkube, I guess this is still in the works? Any update yet?

    Hi @impressivewebs

That specific task is done but there are a few more things that need to be finished for that update. The plan is to release the update in the first half of next week.

Hi @wpkube, I guess this fix is still on hold? I haven’t seen any updates in the last two months.

I also notice that you have a GitHub repo for this. Would it help if I submitted a bug report there?

    Thanks,
    Louis

Hi just checking in again on this as I haven’t heard back. If this is still going to take a while to be fixed, that’s fine, but just wondering because you had said you were pushing out a new update a few months back and I haven’t seen one yet.

    Thanks!
