Support » Plugin: WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway » Status after SOFORT

    Hey,

is it possible to set the status of the order to “In process” immediately after successful authorization with SOFORT, so that an order confirmation is sent to the customer?

For example, when a customer orders a download, they don’t want to wait two days until the status at Stripe changes.

    Thanks!
    Robert

    Hi there Robert,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Absolutely, this is possible with some custom code for changing the updated order status. Due to that code changing the default functionality of the extension, we’re not able to offer support with this but I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the following places for more development-oriented questions:

    1. WooCommerce Slack Community: https://woocommerce.com/community-slack/
    2. Advanced WooCommerce group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/advanced.woocommerce/

Out of interesting, can you walk me through a customer journey so I can understand this a bit more, please?

For example, when a customer orders a download, they don’t want to wait two days until the status at Stripe changes.

Are you saying you want to provide the order to the customer pending the fund transfer?

    Thanks,

    Hey,

thank you for your answer. If a customer pays by SOFORT, he assumes that his money arrives immediately. That’s what the name suggests, and that’s what it says in the description. In reality, however, that is not the case, unfortunately.

So if a customer buys an instant download immediately via SOFORT, he naturally wants immediate access.

So yes, we trust the payment will be successful.

I hope you understand the “problem”.

We are on the verge of only using PayPal. With all other payments there are constantly only problems.

    Thanks
    Robert

    Hi @robbsen1987,

We do understand the problem, it’s just by design that Sofort payments will be set to pending anywhere from 2-14 days while the banks work out the transferring of funds.

Even though there is a low failure rate, tt would be a bad idea for us to set those to processing as the order hasn’t been confirmed paid for until the bank clears the funds and sends an update via the Stripe webhooks that it’s paid for.

Like mentioned though, the code is open source and you can modify how that works to fit your specific situation.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
