My server logs show visits to my website, but Slimstat doesn’t seem to be logging them since the last update (v.4.7.9.1). I haven’t changed any Slimstat filters and I normally see Google bots in the dashboard’s “Visitor Activity” section. Now, Slimstat hasn’t shown any new activity since about 4/22. I suspect that is when I updated either the last time or the time before, but not sure. There were two updates close together and I may have been hoping that the most recent update would fix the lack of logging by Slimstats.

I am running WooCommerce 3.6.2., PHP version: 7.2.7. Am I missing something? Am I the only one?

    Thank you…

  • Hello,
I’ve just installed version 4.8 following your instructions and it seems to work fine.
I configured it in client mode, setting the cookie; I have WP-SuperCache and Autoptimize plugins enabled.
The website is https://www.felicetufo.com (if you want to check something).

    Thanks a lot!

@felixt80 thank you for taking some time to test our next release. It confirms what other testers have told us! We are finalizing a few details, and this new update should be officially pushed to the WordPress repository early next week.

    Take care,
    Jason

I’m probably doing something wrong. I uploaded the resulting files to /wp-content/plugins/wp-slimstat/. Verified the version on the plugin page is 4.8. Now, nothing logged since. I have tried:

Client Mode enabled / CDN Enabled
Client Mode enabled / CDN Disabled
Server Mode enabled / CDN Enabled
Server Mode enabled / CDN Disabled

Nothing logged yet after uploading 4.8 files.

@pawdl I just accessed your website, and my three page views were tracked as expected (IDs=2004, 2006, 2007). Are you sure you don’t have an Ads Blocker in your browser preventing Slimstat from logging your visits?

    Jason

@pawdl if you have any caching plugin try to empty the cache after reinstalling slimstat. Also I noticed that sometimes the delivery of the tracking code through CDN does not work and the cookie is not set, so I disabled the CDN.

Probably the reason your views were tracked is because I went back to 4.7.9.1. I may have to check for an ad blocker, but if it is, how many true visitors will be using an ad blocker?

    I have no caching plugins.

I will try to reinstall 4.8 later today.
