  • Hi there I am cookmybooks.net
I recently made lots of changes including moving to self hosting, using ads, new domain name, adsense, feedbuner and new theme. Things were fine for about a week with around 75 hits per day which was consistent with my old site. After about a week, around June 30, my stats plummeted!

I read this site and did some of the suggestions like updating word press and jetpack but am still struggling

    Can anyone help?

  • The usual suspect is the theme. Please see the FAQ about that.

Thanks. I read some threads which said to insert footer code. It seems it’s already there so footer code is not a problem

I think the trouble started when I inserted adsense code into the header. Is there a way to re-install my theme or to replace it without losing all my customization ie widgets and plugins? Or any other ideas besides the theme?

Probably the second most common cause is a javascript error earlier in the page. If you post your blog’s URL I can take a look and let you know what I find.

    Thanks so much skeltoac

I looked at your blog and your stats reports. Sorry about this, but as far as I can tell your stats plugin is working normally. It loads the tracking file and shows the results on your report page. While the 50% drop you experienced could be alarming and might point to something being wrong, nothing I saw indicated a problem with Jetpack or the Stats module.

    Hi how embarrassing
Thanks so much for checking though. I really appreciate it
