Stats does not accept my API key

    I have recently installed Akisment no problem and now would like to add wordpress.com stats. It will not accept my API key.

    Message: needs atention: please enter an API key or disable plugin.

    I know I have the right API key and I have enabled and disable a couple of times.

    Please someone help me!!

    From other post on this topic it doesn’t sound like any of the moderators or WordPress has an answer to this problem. I have two external blogs and Akismet and Stots works fine for my first blog but on my second blog Akismet works but stats will not accept the API key. This forum is full of other post and yet there is no answer. I have changed the passwords for all my blogs and my profile on WordPress.com and that doesn’t work. I just had to Deactivate the WordPress Stats for my second blog.

    Here is the message I get when trying to get support from WordPress.com:

    We only provide support for WordPress.com blogs here. Please go to the WordPress.org Support Forum for further help.

    It doesn’t look like they want to resolve this issue. I suggest using another plugin for stats since WordPress Stats are not supported.
