Statpress Reloaded… Clean up DB size or suggest alternative

Just a few questions re statpress reloaded

1. Can I uninstall it, If so, does uninstall get rid of all of the excessive data in my database?

2. Can I somehow keep the hit stats when the plugin is uninstalled?

3. Any decent alternatives to this plugin that don’t have a huge database?

Everything I’ve been reading about the plugin suggests it’s good in one sense, however the database sizes just run out of control, I’m at 28mb already and really don’t want it to get much bigger, but I know it will.
I just tried deleting visits over a year old through the options menu on the plugin admin, it did, but also changed (decreased) the number of hits on the site.

Visits are in the footer and view counts on the single posts pages.
