• I use both firestats and wp stats. They show completely different number of hits. On wp stats I am always at half hower comparing to the firestats. What’s going on? Also I have a hit html on the sidebar and is shows a significant lower number than the firestats total hits. So what is better to do?

Is there anything else I could use? I would like something with good analysis. IP, Page hits, Page views, countries, curves…. so the best combination…

  • I use the StatPress plugin and really like it. Looks like the maintenance of it is in a bit of flux, but it’s still working with 2.8…hopefully, it will continue to be maintained.

I know, it is a bit frustrating, isn’t it? I believe it has something to do with how these different programs measure things.

Most people use and trust Google Analytics. There’s an interesting discussion going on about stat programs found on a blog called Blogging Without A Blog.

There’s also an advance program called Woopra many people like. And if you’re looking for an actual php program that installs on your server, look into phpMyVisits: http://www.phpmyvisites.us/

Php… this has ended up my worst nightmare really after I messed up my page and I broke it…. but thanks anyway.

It looks to me that it is not possible to identify exactly your visitors. I prefer firestats than google analytics. In the second it doesn’t show the IP and really I hate the anonymity. What I will do, I’ll have a look to everything you suggest me and I will keep using both wp stats and firestats. Then I will look on the average of both.
