 * What happens to the view statistics for a post once you post a scheduled update?
   Will WordPress retain all the previous tracked views, or will they reset to 0
   on the day the scheduled update is posted?

 * It depends on what type of mechanism you are using.
    If it is based on storing
   in metadata, it will be moved into original one. If this is stored outside of
   post meta, there is nothing to worry about.
 * Also, this is a good idea for us, to add metadata filtering option in the future.

 * I’m using Jetpack to view my statistics currently. I’m looking at the statistics
   like the number of views per day and per month.
 * I’m currently using another plugin to revise old posts and schedule updates. 
   In that plugin, once the revised version is published, all of the statistics 
   on views disappear and reset to 0. I can only see stats after it was republished;
   all of my earlier views vanish from Jetpack as if they never existed.
 * Therefore, I’m reviewing other plugins to see if there’s a better solution.
 * Here’s what I want to do:
    1. Create a revised version of an old post, while the original version stays live.
    2. Schedule a date and time for the revised version to publish.
    3. When the revised version publishes, it uses the same permalink as the original
       post.
    4. When the revised version publishes, it continues tracking views with the old
       and new merged together. That is, if I post a revised version on a Tuesday, 
       I can still see the stats from Monday for how many people had viewed the old
       version.
 * I’m pretty confident from your documentation that I can do #1-3 above. I’d like
   to do #4 as well. Is #4 what currently happens with revisions using this plugin,
   or is that something you’d need to add with a metadata filter feature?

 * Hello, sorry for delayed response.
 * As we know, JetPack stats are not stored inside your WordPress database.
    Old
   post always stays untouched until revision is accepted. Revision can not be visited,
   so you don’t have to merge stats from both posts.
 * Yes, this plugin fits your needs perfectly.

 * So I don’t have to merge the stats, but they will be automatically merged together
   by your plugin? Jetpack won’t reset the statistics after a revision with a new
   publication date?

 * There will not be such a thing like “merging stats”.
    Duplicated post doesn’t
   go live, it doesn’t collect any new stats.
 * After acceptation, our merging mechanism just replaces content, metadata, taxonomies,
   etc. Jetpack stores stats on its own. We do not touch it 🙂

 * Ah, that’s the piece that I needed to know–it doesn’t republish with a new date
   so it goes to the top of the new posts. It just stays with the same old publish
   date.
 * I’ve been blogging for 12 years, so I have a ton of old posts that are buried
   in my archives. As I work on updating them, they need to republish with a new
   date and go live on a specified date. If your plugin doesn’t have revised posts
   go live on a schedule, then it won’t work for me.

 *  – yes, this is possible, please go to the settings of our plugin:
    > section“
   Merging” > “Merge date with revision” option.

 * Hmm…that does look like it will work.
 * OK, maybe I’ll do a test and see what happens with the Jetpack statistics. The
   problem may be with Jetpack and that it resets statistics if the publish date
   changes, rather than how I’m doing revisions.
