    Steps to reproduce:
    Go to:
    1. Settings.
    2. Reading.
    3. Front page displays > a static home page:
Front pages option is set as home.
Posts page option is set as a new page called
    ‘Blog’.

Issue – the static home page will set (save) however the ‘Posts Page’ will not save when I click “Save Changes”. Resulting in none of my posts being displayed on the ‘Blog’ page.

Further information: when I create the a new post the permalink structure of the post never adopts the correct URL i.e it should read http://thewebsitename.com/blog/posts-name ….. it just reads as http://thewebsitename.com/posts-name

Any help would really be appreciated. This is a difficult problem to sum up in a google or forum search.

Have you tried deactivating all your plugins? What is your current permalinks settings at? What happens if you try changing that? Does this happen with any other activated theme?

Solved, this was an issue with how my theme was coded. I contacted the developer and he informed me I could not set a static page like this.

And had to insert my blogs via shortcodes.
