    Hi guys

I cannot get my head around this.

I have set my site up so it uses static pages.

    Front is Home
    Post is Blog

The Home page uses a custom template (front.php as home.php caused issues), and the Blog page uses the default template.
This actually doesn’t seem to make a difference to the problem.

Now, there is one parent category which I want to exclude from Blog, and display that category on a separate page dedicated to that category (as it will have a different design again).

That is where I am stuck, and do not know how to resolve. I could use separate templates again, but I don’t know how to get the loop active.
I essentially need to have multiple Post pages and exclude/include the categories accordingly.

Edit: I’ve tried using Category Templates, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference.
I have Archive.php and Index.php, and creating any of the Category pages doesn’t change what I see.

  • The blog page ignores any templates, so you can’t solve the problem that way. Try the Blog In Blog plugin.

    It’s okay, I’ve worked on a walk-around, utilising custom menus 😀

Now I have my Blog Page (using the template to exclude unwanted categories and their children) and set the categories that I want as their own link in the menu 🙂
