Static page designated as the front page is not static! The blog slider dominates the top portion. Another static page listed as page 2, is good. What am I doing wrong?

I noticed that the permalink for the page initially read end-note.com/home but after publishing it the home was dropped. Is that the problem and if so how do I fix it?

The static page is acting as expected. The slider will automatically appear on the front page unless you disable it in Graphene’s options.

This is standard WordPress behavior. The “home” page is just supposed to be your url: http://www.example.com. If you use a page as a static home page, its url becomes the blog url.

I figured out that the theme was the problem but I couldn’t make it change so I changed themes instead. Thank you for the help.
