Static Page messing up with Permalinks

    Hi there…

    I am having a very strange error…

    I have Default permalinks setup… when I pick a Static Page as my Front page (under Reading).. the permalink of that static page changes to myhost.com/ instead of myhost.com/?page_id=123 …

    Now when I go to myhost.com … It still shows my Recent Posts Page… instead of the Front Page (the static one) ..

    I am perplexed … does default permalink feature not work with static pages?

    I am using atahualpa 353 btw as the theme

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    i did all three of the above… seems to be a problem with ATAHUALPA 3.5.3 … not sure what though… i have contacted their support
