# Static Page Comment Error

 * I’ve added a new static page to my site and turned off Comments and Pings. However
   when I view the page I get the following error:
 * Warning: comments_template(/home/icklebu/public_html/wp-content/themes/crossbones):
   failed to open stream: Success in /home/icklebu/public_html/wp-includes/comment-
   functions.php on line 24
 * Warning: comments_template(/home/icklebu/public_html/wp-content/themes/crossbones):
   failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/icklebu/public_html/wp-includes/
   comment-functions.php on line 24
 * Fatal error: comments_template(): Failed opening required ‘/home/icklebu/public_html/
   wp-content/themes/crossbones’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’)
   in /home/icklebu/public_html/wp-includes/comment-functions.php on line 24
 * Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? Thanks 🙂

 * I have the same or very similar problem. I’m running the 1.5 release, with some
   changes to the templates. Not sure what is causing this.

 * seeing how you’re not using comments on pages, just go check your pages.php file,
   and remove out all comment calls. If you don’t have a pages.php file, then you
   should create one.
