Thanks for the great plug in.

Maps that I attach to posts are showing up as Static instead of Dynamic. They were working fine previously.

I used the basic code in the Installation instruction. I updated to the latest version of Pronamic Maps this morning – not sure if it’s related because I reinstalled the previous version with no change.

I also do not have Jetpack installed as it seemed to be the cause of a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I have not installed any new plugins since before the problem began.

Strangely, I have a mashup that I’m calling through code and it shows up fine. Also, working locally 2 of my maps show up Dynamic and the others show up as Static. On the server the setup is the same but none of the maps (except the mashup) show up as Dynamic.

I’ve tried various Map options from the Google API documentation but they have no effect.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks.

Do you see an JavaScript error after the page is loaded? You can see this easily with Firebug or Google Chrome developer tools.

Hi Remco, thanks for getting back to me. No js errors are showing.

I’m also using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin and recently modified the field group attached to the post type that also uses the maps. It seems like that is when the issue started though I can’t say for sure. (The mod to the field group was breaking the fields up into tabs, fyi)

However, if content is added to one of the affected posts then often the map for that post will show correctly. Simply updating the post without new content doesn’t do it though.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks again.

Can i see the issues somewhere online?

    Hi Remco,
thanks again for getting back to me. I’m afraid the site is currently on a dev server so I can’t give a link.

However, the fix I mentioned in my previous post does seem to work. As the client has gone through and added extra content to any posts with a Pronamics Map, the map starts displaying normally in the post again.

As I said, it only seems to work if content is added, not if the post is simply Updated without adding anything.

Also, I would say that it probably had something to do with updating my Custom Field Group (using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin) – I’ve seen it before that when a field group has a newer version imported (after the old one has been deleted), sometimes any posts that used that group have to be resaved (updated) to make them display correctly. But usually you don’t have to actually add new content, which is where this issue seems to be unique. I’m just lucky in this case that the client is continuing to add content to the affected posts.

For the record, before adding new content I also tried turning off, updating the post, then turning back on the Show Map checkbox of Pronamic Maps. And also modifying the Map in some way (new address etc). Neither seemed to make the maps function again.

If there is still a post that has this issue once the site is launched I will send a link.

    Thanks again.
