Static Homepage with top 4 category post pulled in

    @denerious

    Hi all
    I am new to Child Themes and I have watched a couple of the Lynda.com films about creating them and wanted to ask if for some advice.

    I am creating a child theme using TwentyTwelve as the template. It will have static front page with a header, footer and the center is full width no sidebar.

    For part of the center of the page I want a row of 4 static graphics which will represent a category and underneath there will be the most recent story for that category. it would ‘look’ similar to http://demos.bavotasan.com/gridiculous/ but where the text is static and standard it would actually have top category post fed in.

    Does this make sense, please help

    Michael
