Static homepage disappears when Polylang is activated

I use the Astra theme. I had a static page on the home page, but it disappeared and now I see only blog posts even though under the Reading settings, the home page is set as “home”, and the posts as “blog”. I deactivated all the plugins and found out that the issue is caused by Polylang plugin. It used to work well but I don’t know why it stopped working now. Any ideas?
