Support » Fixing WordPress » Static Home page not loading any content

  • Hey guys;

    I’m new to WordPress I started yesterday; however I know bits about web design (html, css, etc.) Anyway my current problem is that I have been trying to get the main page to appear as a sort of home page with a featured slider that comes with the theme that I am using (SoundRock from themeforest) and a bit of content maybe a widget or two. However when I set this page as the frontpage and load it it simply acts as though there is nothing at all on the page (I’m reasonably sure that it’s the right page that I am using).

    I have tried various things all day long including resetting my plugins adding removing pages and a few other things I read on the internet however I couldn’t find any posts close enough to mine.

    You can see the current state of the website at

    I am doing this website as a favor and would really like it to be developed properly. So any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Also I’m using WP 3.5.

  • Woops my bad just read the rules on bumping (delete this please)

    A couple things you might try.
    In the Edit window for your home page, make sure you have selected Home in the template drop down box to the right of the edit box.

    Also, under Settings> reading> Front page displays> make sure you have selected home as your front page.

    It’s definitely set as the front page; however I don’t see a drop down box to select the template type.

    Oh I think I may have found it but the only option is default template.

    Okay I’ve been tinkering now and I’ve got a page that I am positive is the home page because I reset the whole thing. However I still cannot seem to add anything to it; all I get is a side bar and the main slider.

    Please somebody help need to fix this asap.
