Static header image

    I would like to have a static header image in place of the slider, but in the meantime I use featured images in the posts. Is there a way to solve this?

    I solved the problem defining a new category, which comprises only one post with a featured image. Then I set # images in the slider =1, and the name of the above category, then I have only the image I desired.

    This is what I had but I do not want the original post to show in the blog list and can’t figure out how to hide it. It will always be the first post but I don’t know where in the php to edit this.
