New static front page won't show

    Hello all,
    So I’ve created a new Optimise press landing page for my website http://www.Gidoschimanski.com
    When ever I choose it now to be the new static front page it will still show the old file, that we already have trashed.
    even if I can choose a page in CUSTOMIZE, it simply won’t show..

    The old landing page was created and uploaded by an outsourced designer that I now can’t reach and it seems like this landing page is not even in my wordpress.

    When you check “HomePage” in my pages you can click the live editor it will show you our new design. But when you click View it still shows the old page. Any idea how I can get rid of the old version?
    Very strange!!!

    Is there an index.html in the /public_html/ directory?

    Hey Mark, thank you for your reply. Where would I find that? (Not that familiar with it all just yet.) Wouldd I have to look in my wordpress dashboard or through my ftp?

    You would need to use your ftp client to login to the website – your webhost might also have a File Manager where you can also look inside the directories on your site.

    Yeah, I don’t seem to find any of it in there.. But then again, I’m not exactly sure what to look for. I’ll have a look if I can get in touch with the webhost directly..

    Btw, I just had a message from the designer that that can take it down for me, if pay them… Fun! 🙂

    No – do not pay. That’s ridiculous. It’s close to extortion.
    If you can’t work it out I’ll do it for you. Email mark@ at my domain in my profile.

    Thank you Mark, that is really nice of you. They now say I should just delete it from my page section in wordpress, so I reckon they are facing the same problem as me. That’s why they want the payment, because they think I just ask them to a job I didn’t want to do..

    Lets see if they can sort it out now and if not I might have to ask you again if that’s okay..
