Static Front Page Area – How to Use?

    Love the look of this theme… My goal is to insert text (a text box?) instead of the merit box area on the home page (responsive layout). I thought the “Static Front Page Area” would be the correct setting, but Nothing seems to change when I select “on” or “off.”

    In Appearance | Theme Options | Layout Settings under
    Home, how does the “Static Front Page Area” setting work?
