[resolved] Static Front Page and hero image / slider (5 posts)

I originally posted a question about SEO settings in Yoast changing my title here

I found the solution was to go to Reading -> Front Page Displays -> Your latest posts.

However now the slider does not display. If I change it to choose a specific page, there's no option to pick the standard "untitled" home page.

Is there a way I can get my header back. I think it means unselecting both
"Your latest posts" and "A static page". But wordpress will only let me select one or the other.

The page I need help with is lrresponsiblelife.com

    Many Thanks,

  2. Hi Mike, have you followed all these steps for the slider:

    1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
    2. Enter the name of a tag.
    3. Click the “Save” button.
    4. Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1024px wide.
    5. Repeat for as many posts as you want in the slider.

Note: The featured image will look best at 1440px wide, 400px tall.

Give each featured post the tag you declared in step 1.

Thank you very much that fixed it.

I did have a tag set up before, but it mustn't of applied to the "latest posts" as the static front page.

So glad it's back again, thank you!

Will this work with the meta slider or is there another better suited? I am trying to publish a full page slide show, either in a post or a static "home" page.

I'm not sure about the Meta Slider because I haven't used that plugin. You could ask at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ml-slider though.

As for the Untitled theme, the slider that comes built into the theme isn't designed to always be full page, but it comes close in my experience if you're adding really large images as the featured images for posts.
