 * I am [2 months] new to WordPress.
    I can only write a little bit of code. I want
   to use the Autoviewer slideshow plugin on my blog. My fundamental question is:**
   Do I need to purchase hosting for my site so that I can install the plugin tab
   into my dashboard?** I suppose I understand everything I need to do, after that,
   but I just want to be sure before I go out and purchase the hosting that I need
   it.

 * Well, I don’t really understand your question…
    BUT… If you can run WordPress,
   you should be able to run that plugin that you mentioned, unless your host have
   some weirdo restrictions.
