The Events Calendar
[resolved] Starting the calendar at a specific month (13 posts)

    Hello, excuse me in advance if this is a daft question that has been answered elsewhere.

    But I would like to know if it's possible to start the calendar at another starting point than the current month/date.

    I have events spanning a few weeks, all within one month. My users do not need to be able to see all the other months of the year.

    So my question is this:

    Can I make it so only e.g. June is displayed in a month view?

    Hello,

    if you would like to display your June events only you could change the events link to http://yoursite.com/events/2014-06/ and if you would like to hide previous and next month view, add this to your child style.css or using the Simple Custom CSS Plugin:

    .tribe-events-nav-previous {
        display: none;
    }

    .tribe-events-nav-next  {
        display: none;
    }

    Hey kaniamea and thanks for your response.

    Again, excuse me if I'm being thick but where do I edit the events link? I don't have a folder in my domain called events.

    You can go to your admin area - Dashboard => Appearance => Menus and if you already have a link Events in your menu, click on it (where it says Custom) and change the URL there.

    Hmm doesn't seem to work. Just get a page not found error.

    I'm working locally and typed in http://localhost/sitename/events/2014-06/

    Do you already have the events added to your site? If so, go to your main events page http://localhost/sitename/events/ and click on the month links (April, May, etc) until you reach the June page. Does it still show page not found error then?

    I do have events added in June and some test dates added for March.

    My link to the page seems to be different: http://localhost/sitename/?post_type=tribe_events is what I get when I'm on the calendar page after clicking on it in the menu.

    I've tried making it like http://localhost/jkf/?post_type=tribe_events/2014-06 and http://localhost/jkf?post_type=tribe_events/events/2014-06

    Am I just targeting the wrong links or what?

    Check your Permalink Settings in the Dashboard => Settings => Permalink. You can set the URL structure you wish there. For pretty links you can choose: /sample-post/.

    Hey again, don't know if this thread is still writable after marking it as resolved, but I have a follow up question:

    Is there anyway to just show a couple weeks rather than one whole month?

    Hmm, I think it is not possible. The PRO version has a feature that allows you to display events weekly.
