Hi all, first of all I want to congratulate Brainstorm Force for the great work you do with all your plugins. It’s amazing the things I’m now able to do with both Astra and Elementor. Keep up the good work guys! you’re definitively setting a new standard of quality much needed in WordPress.

Now about my problem. My situation is this:

1.- I’ve setup a localhost installation of my live site to change to Astra and Elementor. The site used Twentyseventeen as the base theme.

2.- I’ve imported the DNK store theme from your starter sites (https://wpastra.com/ready-websites/?website=brandstore-02) once I changed to an Astra Child Theme. I think you recommend doing this on a brand new site but all has worked well except two pages of Woocommerce.

3.- The DNK theme had the “my account” page (and I assume the checkout too) bugged. You can click on the header on “my account” there but it doesn’t load.

4.- The two pages that give a 404 error in my localhost are “my-account” and “checkout”. At import it duplicated all Woocommerce pages so I deleted them all, only those two pages gave a 404.

5.- In case some additional information helps I’m not using any of the known plugins that cause incompatibilities with Elementor or Astra except Shortcodes Ultimate. Also I’m using plain permalinks at my localhost. I can’t use custom permalinks although I’ve enabled modrewrite in my local Apache.

Thanks for your attention and I hope you can help me guys. I’m delighted with Elementor and don’t want to stop redesigning my website because of this small bug.

See you soon and have a great day!

Thanks a ton for using Astra @danescobar

Let me answer your questions below:

1.- I’ve setup a localhost installation of my live site to change to Astra and Elementor. The site used Twentyseventeen as the base theme.

    = Cool.

2.- I’ve imported the DNK store theme from your starter sites (https://wpastra.com/ready-websites/?website=brandstore-02) once I changed to an Astra Child Theme. I think you recommend doing this on a brand new site but all has worked well except two pages of Woocommerce.

= No worries. Here is a related article in our knowledge base: https://wpastra.com/docs/can-import-astra-starter-site-existing-website/

3.- The DNK theme had the “my account” page (and I assume the checkout too) bugged. You can click on the header on “my account” there but it doesn’t load.

= We will need to take a closer look at your website to understand this. Could you please lodge a support ticket from our website once your site is live?

4.- The two pages that give a 404 error in my localhost are “my-account” and “checkout”. At import it duplicated all Woocommerce pages so I deleted them all, only those two pages gave a 404.

= This article might help you create new pages: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/

    = No worries

    Hi Sujay,

Thanks for your answer. Maybe I have explained the bug wrongly. Let me try to explain better:

3.- The DNK theme had the “my account” page (and I assume the checkout too) bugged. You can click on the header on “my account” there but it doesn’t load.

= We will need to take a closer look at your website to understand this. Could you please lodge a support ticket from our website once your site is live?

This bug is not initially on my localhost. It started in the “my-account” page on your DNK theme. You can visit https://wpastra.com/ready-websites/?website=brandstore-02 and check for yourself. Try to click on my-account on your page header menu. It’s bugged. And maybe that bug propagated to my localhost when I imported this starter site. Please check this and confirm if it happens at your end as well.

This is how the page looks on our website: https://websitedemos.net/brandstore-02/my-account/

How do you see it? Could you kindly elaborate or better yet, provide a screenshot?

    In brandstore-02:
I understand what happened now. When I clicked the my account button in your header page seems like the button is disabled. This only happens when you do this through this link: https://wpastra.com/ready-websites/?website=brandstore-02
If you click this from https://websitedemos.net/?website=brandstore-02 it works as expected.

    In my localhost:
The my-account button on my header works but produces a 404 error (the page couldn’t load) despite being active. It happens as well with checkout and accessing those pages from the admin area produces a 404 as well. I’ve checked the pages in the editor and the woocommerce shortcodes are correct.
I’m clueless as to why this is happening. Maybe those specific two pages can’t load with plain permalinks or from a localhost?

Sujay receive my apologies if I’m making it difficult for you to solve. I’m new and ignorant on WordPress debugging, I’m learning on the go. Maybe is it normal that my account and checkout pages don’t load on a local testing environment? I’d rather remove my localhost and start all over again if I can’t fix this problem than keep adding content and testing to a bugged local environment. I’d use things like MAMP or local by flywheel but since I’m in a linux environment I configured my localhost manually, everything works fine except this little annoying bug.

    Thanks for your attention 🙂

    P. S. Another thing that may be causing it is that when I click on cart it uses http unsecured protocol. When I try to load “my account” and checkout they return a 404 and they try to load with https. Being on a localhost could that be what is causing the error?

    No worries!

As for the 404 pages, have you seen this article:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/

I believe this should solve your problem. If not, please get your website live and lodge a ticket from our website. I will be happy to take a closer look and help.

    Hi again Sujay,

I made a mistake, this bug is not related with Astra Starter Sites, I’m very sorry. It looks related with the https protocol producing an error in a localhost environment. It appeared after importing your site and I thought it was related.

I disabled “force secure checkout” and the checkout page works. (https://imgur.com/a/fA9IhRT) I haven’t managed to fix the “my-account” page yet since there is no similar option to disable https but I guess it will fix itself once I upload the site.

Again, receive my apologies for this mistake. And thanks for all the great work you’re doing with your products. You’ve earned a new fan 🙂

    No problem at all!

By the way, I was wondering if you might able to help us as well? If you don’t mind, I’d really appreciate if you could rate Astra for the quality and support we provide here: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/astra/reviews/?rate=5#new-post

This would help other users make a comfortable decision while choosing the Astra and be assured of the support we provide.

    Kind Regards,
    Sujay
