Support » Plugin: WP Statistics » Start counting month/year stats from 1/1/2015?

I didn’t find this in the FAQ nor in the manual, but I strongly suspect it’s in there somewhere.

I added WP-Stats in mid-October, 2014 and am very happy with my results with it. However, I have been having to do the following:
    1. manually add the stats each month to the spreadsheet I use for long-term tracking, adding in the status-quo-ante data. (I have learned from this forum where I can add in the pre-WP-Statistics data).
    2. catch the stats at midnight on the last day of the month, because the months that the stats plugin collects don’t align with the months of the calendar.

I want to start the “new year” and “new months” on the crack of midnight on 1/1/15, and not still be counting from mid-October, 2014.

    How?

The easiest way would be to export the vistor/visit table data, the data is stored on a daily basis so you can sort it and summarize it any way you like.

Likewise, removing data from the database is relatively easy to do based on data with a sql query through phpMyAdmin or a similar tool.

Please consider adding a way to sync the zero date of the data displayed so that we can start a year at 1/1 12:01 and a month at the first of the month.

An arbitrary year start would be advantageous to people who use a fiscal year in their reporting, too.

I don’t know how much work this would be for you, but think I would not be the exclusive beneficiary.

No idea here on how to export the table and do anything with it, or how to query the database through phpMyAdmin. Too much work and too much risk for someone who’s just a blogger, I’m afraid.

Thank you for your response, regardless.

I think what you really want is custom reports so you can specify the start/end date of the report.

That is something we’ve been looking at.
