    Hey there,

I’ve been trying to update to version 7.1-CE for about an hour now; it’s been stuck on the second step:

Creating file system directories (e.g wp-content/cjt-content/templates).

I had a look through my FTP and there’s no files being made in that directory. Do you know what’s going on?

Love the plugin though, thanks for all your hard work.

    Nope, no security plugins.

    Hi AHMeD/buttmcbutt

I had the same problem, stuck at “Add WordPress built-in scripts and styles as CJT Templates so it can be used throught Templates Lookup form.”

I ended up deactivating these for it to work.
    iControlWP
    IMSC Rapid Mailer
    iThemes Security
    W3 Total Cache
    Wordfence Security

Not sure if it was a single one or a combination of these as I deactivated all these plugins in one go.
I considered these heavy resource plugins that may interfere with others as in this example.

I have activated them now and CJT seems ok

    Great plugin!RegardsTorkild

    Hey Torkild,

Just gave that a shot and deactivated all of my plugins… Still no luck. I’m depending on CJT for work this week and need to get it up and running as soon as possible. If I were to uninstall/reinstall, would I lose all of my code?

With the old version it kept the tables and I did not lose any data when I did an uninstall/reinstall.
I have not tried an uninstall/reinstall with the updated version though.

If you have access to the database via phpMyAdmin you will see the tables there and take a copy of your code blocks.

I don’t know if the tables has been converted yet in your case.

The naming convention for the updated version 7.1ce is:[wpPrefix]_cjtoolbox_[tablename], with 17 tables.
The blocks are in table [wpPrefix]_cjtoolbox_block_files in the ‘code’ field where you can get a copy of your code.

In the old version it is only three tables, using the same naming convention. You will find the blocks of code in table [wpPrefix]_cjtoolbox_blocks in the ‘code’ field where you can take a copy of your code.

An export of all the CJT tables would be beneficial as well, just in case.
My guess is that you could delete the tables after uninstalling it for a fresh install, but this is a hunch. I am not 100% sure as I have not tried this myself for this update.

    Hope this helps

    Hello All,

Torkild, glad you got everything fine. Thank you for the information you provided of how you got it to work. We will test the same case you had.

I’m a little sure that Uninstall and Install won’t solve the problem!

I’m checking to see what might cause this issue.

    AHMeD

I also have the same problem. it never ends. What to do?

I have no idea what happened but CJT is up and running again on my WP site. There’s still weird permissions problems happening with uploading files/updating so I do think it’s something on my end, not yours. Thanks again for the support… your plugin is wizardry. And thanks for the help torkild

    We make it works.

Your server configuration is denied folder creation.

You can manage Blocks but you cannot create Templates. I’ve few iother things I’m currently doing and I will check template issue later today.

You can use it normally without creating Templates. Only Blocks.

Got the same with the templates issue… Installation is getting stuck. Would be gratefull for a fixed update!

I am also experiencing the stuck upgrade problem. For me the first three steps succeeded but I am stuck on ” Add WordPress built-in scripts and styles as CJT Templates so it can be used throught Templates Lookup form”

From the above it seem like the plug-in author is working on a fix – am I right? Do you have an update?

Sounds like some have had success with uninstall reinstall. I would rather have a fix if possible.

    Hi All,

Unfortunately some commercial servers run on higher security with PHP Safe Mode turned on that can restrict folder creation. More information on this can be found here: http://qdig.sourceforge.net/Support/PHPSafeMode

During this installation stage for CJT Templates, it seems it is falling over while trying to create these folders:

    wp-content/cjt-content
    and
    wp-content/cjt-content/templates

For some reason, CJT can’t create these for you. You can try manually creating both folders using an FTP client for the above folder structure, and this should get you past this step and therefore complete the installation. Then you are able to use the plugin as you normally would. However you may not be able to create CJT templates, as template files (which are created under their own folders within this root templates folder) may probably be blocked by the PHPSafeMode security setting.

Whilst a fix may be some time away, please in the meantime either talk to your hosting provider on relaxing the permissions, OR revert back to the previous version of CJT Free, which at the time of writing is: 6.1.5: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/css-javascript-toolbox.6.1.5.zip

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,
    Damian

OK thanks I have downgraded back to 6.1.5 and all is well.
