 * I am looking for a way to create a staging site and then move it back to live
for free or a low one time payment. The only real free versions limit the size(
my website is a portfolio), or ask for an ongoing subscription when I really
only need to do this migration one time. I already created a staging site with
WPvivid and realized after the work was done that I can’t migrate it back. I’m
willing to pay for the services but not an ongoing one and so i hope for suggestions
   please.

 * You will likely be hard-pressed to find an easy way to do this for free. WPVivid
Pro’s lowest package is $40 per year which is really not bad at all when you
think about even if you only use it one time, it will be worth the money rather
than having to do it manually.

 * If you already have a staging site and only need to migrate it to production,
have you tried the default export/import tools? TBH, I’ve not used these myself,
so there could be some tragic flaw I’m unaware of. You could always [migrate manually](https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/upgrade/migrating/#moving-directories-on-your-existing-server).
The linked instructions are quite specific so the process appears to be rather
complicated. Once you’ve gone through the process, I think you’ll find that it’s
not nearly as complicated as the instructions make it appear.
 * The instructions also give the impression that if you don’t follow all the steps
exactly, you will be screwed. This is not the case. If you should accidentally
skip a step or do something out of order, virtually any blunder is recoverable.
While care is called for, don’t be overly concerned about messing up. Just do
not remove staging until you’re sure the migration was 100% successful.
