 * StageShow can not longer be downloaded!
The same thing for the updates.
 * Malcolm we do appreciate your work and apparently you did invest in updates after
   the initial freeze.
 * What needs to be done to get the updates and make the plugin available again?

 * I did a request to WordPress admin and got this response, maybe it helps:

    WordPress.org Admin
 * If you are the plugin’s author, then you need to contact [plugins@wordpress.org](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/stageshow-status/plugins@wordpress.org?output_format=md)
about the plugin to get whatever the problem is sorted out.

 * I was just on the verge, very regretfully, of ditching StageShow and looking
for an alternative, because the bugs are making the plugin impossible to use.
   These include:
    • confirmation emails for reservations do not add up the ticket
prices and show a total of $0.00 owing • confirmation emails stopped showing
the order number • “Message to seller” was not being stored in the database •
the discounted price is not passed through to PayPal, so a person using a discount
code is charged full price • recently, the confirmation emails have an empty
message body with two identical attachments named <subject line>.dat
 * I don’t know what has caused these problems, but I can only assume it is incompatibility
with newer versions of PHP and/or WordPress, because I don’t think anything in
   StageShow has changed.
 * However, there may be a glimmer of hope! This morning I noticed that there has
been quite a lot of activity by Malcolm in the plugin tracker here:
 * It shows there have been 10 updates committed in the last month, the most recent
being version 9.3.8, three days ago! (I am currently running 9.2.1)
 * The question is: How do we get the new version? If I visit the plugin site at:

it says: This plugin has been closed as of May 25, 2020 and is not available
   for download. Reason: Guideline Violation.
 * Fingers crossed!
    Graham

 * Hi all,
 * So Stageshow is now available for update and Malcolm has done a POWER of work
   by the looks of it.
 * Is anyone free to run the latest and check for any problems? I’d rather we went
together with a collated list rather than each of us bombard him as that’s highly
unfair on him especially when he’s working on Stageshow for free now.
 * I have a small list but rather check with everyone what they are experiencing.
 * Thanks all.

 * Firstly, sorry for being quiet on the suspension of StageShow. Hopefully all
my users will understand once I explain!
 * It all started when I changed ISP … several months ago. I had quite a few email
addresses set up with my previous ISP and took the opportunity to do a bit of
house-keeping and only created email accounts for the emails I still needed,
   or so I thought.
 * Some time later I submitted a new plugin to WordPress.org. I didn’t get anything
back from them and that was when I found out that I had inadvertently removed
the email address that I had registered with WordPress.org. So the response email
from the plugins review team “bounced”, and when that happens a few times they
suspend all plugins from that author. ****!
 * Once suspended plugins are only reinstated when they have undergone a comprehensive
security review, and brought into line with the latest guidelines for plugins
exactly the same as a new plugin. I did my own security review and was happy
that there were no security issues, but this is very different from being able
to prove this to the review team. Apart from a couple of minor bugs I found on
the way, all the recent changes are only there so that I can demonstrate to the
plugin review team that StageShow is secure, to make that security more resilient
to future changes and to bring the code up to date with the latest guidelines.
 * Plugins can be suspended if there are security issues with them, and that may
be the assumption when a plugin is suspended. In the case of StageShow I decided
it was better to say nothing until the process was complete. However, I didn’t
expect it to take so long.
 * The two plugins I already had on WordPress.org are now re-instated …. Now what
is it I wanted to do?

 * I’m so glad to hear that StageShow is back, Malcolm.
 * As they say, you only miss it when it’s gone. I was starting to panic as StageShow
   has been great for us.
